Treasury Tuesday

Good morning! Before I opened my Etsy shop, I used to spent countless…i repeat, COUNTLESS hours browsing the Etsy Treasuries featured on the home page. For those of you who don’t know yet (I apologize for playing a part in your new founded obsession),  an Etsy Treasury is a member-curated shopping gallery of sorts. People from the etsy community scour the bajillion shops to find the latest and greatest and pull the listings into their own display…showcasing their “favorites” and usually giving the treasury a unique name like “Pastel Pretties” or “Let’s Talk About Home“.

What’s even cooler is if you were looking for clothes or accessories with a certain theme in mind, you can search by that keyword…for example “JCrew” “Anthropologie” “Vintage“, etc…and treasuries with those like-minded items will pull up for you. It’s seriously one of the coolest things…but do not even ATTEMPT to just go “check it out” unless you have an hour or more to spare:) Just kidding, you probably have more self-restraint and discipline than I do.

Here are my favorite two treasuries for today:

Peaceful April by Azulado
(’cause April starts on Friday…get a clue, rain…)

and my second favorite today,

Buttercreme ‘n’ Honey by Bythewayside

I hope you all have a wonderful day today! And if you have time, go buy something nice for yourself on Etsy, you deserve it!

…and in other news:

I officially opened my Etsy shop this weekend. This is a project I started back in 2009 and kept putting off each month, but I set a goal to get my shop up and running before the end of the year. Thank goodness for the rain that kept me stuck in my house this weekend and forced me to do some of the projects I had put off for so long.

Make It Monday | St. Patty’s Crafts and a little secret…

Happy Monday to you! How was your weekend? With the terrible news of the events in Japan and the rising death toll, I found myself just quietly (yes, me…quiet…) thinking and reflecting on the life we have and how in a very instant, everything can change or disappear. I am so thankful for the moments we are gifted on a daily basis. And church this weekend…holy bejeebus, I’ll have to write a recap on that tomorrow maybe, it is still rocking my face right off…Jonathan truly IS being changed right before our eyes and it’s good, ya’ll…so good.

I thought since St. Patrick’s Day is this week, I’d compile some of my favorite DIY St. Patty’s craft ideas from around the web. (Side Note: Whenever we do have kids one day, whether biological or adopted, they will probably HATE me for all the crafts I’ll make them do…) So here we go, St. Patty’s crafts:

{LOVE this Typography Craft from Tatertots and Jello}

{Super Cute Shamrock Luminaries from Mel Designs}

{Super Creative Rice Crispy Treat Gold Bars from Twig & Thistle}

{How precious are these?! Rainbow Pot o’ Gold from Make & Takes}

Okay, here’s my secret…well even though we have tried unsuccessfully to have a baby for the past 3+ years, I have been collecting books for my future children. It might seem silly since we are no closer to having kids as we were 3 years ago, but I just can’t help it. I LOVE children’s books, especially when the illustrations are just so beautiful and breathtaking. Here are a couple pictures of some books we have collected so far (some are mine from when I was a child, others are gems we’ve picked up at thrift stores):

and I’m already completed obsessed with these Birds in Fables and Tales prints and Fairytale Series Prints from Emma SanCartier’s Etsy shop seen on Papernstitch’s blog. Aren’t these brilliant!?

There’s a never-ending struggle in my heart to be content with the blessings God has already given Jay and I and trying to trust His timing and plan versus the burning desire deep in my heart, soul and everything inside of me, for our family of 2 to grow to like 6 and for us to have our own children to read these books to. One day…until then, I’ll continue my collection:)
